Benefit:

Downtown Lowell in the winter is so cute time with all the lights, wreaths, and old brick buildings, I think if this is done right, it could turn into a holiday destination in MA.

How to Fix Bus Stop Signs

Idea:

I saw this video and thought it would make an interesting and beneficial project for Lowell. LINK to video is here. The video is called “How to Fix Bus Stop Signs: Uytae Lee’s Stories About Here” from CBC-Vancouver on Youtube. The gist of it was zip-tying poster board signs to bus stops, but the signage would include [Read more…]

Idea:

Paint the side of a building outdoor projector screen paint to create a fixture that can be used by anyone for an outdoor movie night.  In addition, create an outdoor home theater cinema projector that people can enjoy. This could somehow be open for use in theft-proof boxes. This could be borrowed/rented by people over [Read more…]

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health's WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of organizations by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.

Most DIY Lowell annual events are free, but often have a suggested donation. No donation is suggested for EBT, WIC, or ConnectorCare cardholders. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.

This program is supported in part by a grant from MassHumanities; in part by the City of Lowell; and in part by the following Comet-level sponsors:
