Bicycles for All – Help Everyone Find a Bike & Mark a Route

Idea:

Find a good route for bicyclists in a park or on a bike path. Use signs to mark the route and publicize. Perhaps at a special event or in a pilot program, work with the City and Veoride to offer city bicycles on that bike path. This may possibly include working with Veoride to pilot [Read more…]

Benefit:

Exercise for youth. This idea will make city bikes more accessible to more people who might not have a debit or credit card. This would benefit young people and others with limited resources. This would also bring attention to the need for more bicycle paths.

Location:

Citywide, OldIdea.

Relaxation Walkway in Centerville

Idea:

Turn walkway along river in Centerville into a relaxation area. Clean up and clear the area, and explore adding features like benches, tables, or putting fences along the waterside.

Benefit:

This idea would beautify and cultivate a natural environment along the Merrimack River for Lowell residents to enjoy.

Card to Culture

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health's WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of organizations by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.

Most DIY Lowell annual events are free, but often have a suggested donation. No donation is suggested for EBT, WIC, or ConnectorCare cardholders. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.
