Homeless Laundry Service

Idea:

Create a feasibility study for a laundry service for homeless individuals that would also include a volunteer day to do laundry. Laundry service space for Homeless individuals and families to utilize to wash their clothes for free, utilizing donated space and utilities provided by the City of Lowell at local neighborhood Activity Centers and potential donated appliances by our local businesses and UMass Lowell

Benefit:

We have at last public count in our public schools 1,857 McKinney Vento students (1,408 doubled up) as well as 300 +/- Rough Sleepers on the street whom are homeless, as well as many adults, children and families in shelters or motels or doubled up in addition. Having a free laundry service place that our beloved homeless residents can utilize will provide a very needed service and give them support to access clean clothes.
