Traditional Medicine Festival

Idea:

Traditional medicine and alternative medicines can provide healing and relief for many people. Working with Lowell Community Health Center or other trained professionals, we could put on an event that teaches the community about the availability and efficacy of traditional healing methods alongside modern techniques. Benefit:

Build bridges between communities and promote healthiness. Destigmatize ailments such as addiction and mental illness. Increase participants’ understanding of the many cultures of Lowell.

Faneuil Hall Market on the Riverwalk

Idea:

For a day or a week, turn the Riverwalk from Boott Mills to LeLaucher Park into a “Faneuil Hall Market” with music, busk stops, vendors, en plein air artists, etc.

Benefit:

Bring attention to the Riverwalk and tourists to Lowell. Identify great places along the Riverwalk for these types of vendors. If it’s successful, inspire year-round buskers and vendors.
