We should research potential locations for a new dog park, and perhaps even do a day-long event in the space for dog owners and their dogs, serving drinks and food, to generate support for a new park. Recycle Bin to Feed Animals for Pet-friendly Events

Idea:

A DIY Lowell team could create a recycling bin that will dispense dog or cat food when an item is recycled. This could be used at pet-friendly events to encourage recycling. It would be available to any group who does such an event.

Benefit:

It will also provide more locations to recycle instead of items being thrown out. It provides incentive for people to recycle too.

Location:

Citywide, OldIdea.

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health's WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of organizations by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.

Most DIY Lowell annual events are free, but often have a suggested donation. No donation is suggested for EBT, WIC, or ConnectorCare cardholders. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.

This program is supported in part by a grant from MassHumanities; in part by the City of Lowell; and in part by the following Comet-level sponsors:
