Idea:

Have a community tag sale or businesses have clearance promotions during a downtown or acre market event where everything is one dollar.

Benefit:

Kids don't have much money and could go to buy things. People also can get rid of their extra stuff.

Location:

Downtown / JAM, OldIdea.

How are U cooking food?

Idea:

Friends and neighbors have a potluck and demonstration to help cook food for CBA and CMAA neighborhoods, like fried chicken and farm vegetables.

Benefit:

More friendship, learning how to cook food, and learning about farm vegetables and animals.

Location:

Acre, Lower Highlands, OldIdea.

Card to Culture

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health's WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of organizations by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.

Most DIY Lowell annual events are free, but often have a suggested donation. No donation is suggested for EBT, WIC, or ConnectorCare cardholders. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.

Special Thanks

This program is funded in part by a grant from the Lowell Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. We also express our sincere gratitude to our Cornerstone Partners:

Lenny Zakim Lowell Cultural Council
