Park Musicians to Set a Mood

Idea:

Hire a musician to set a relaxing mood with synthesizer, guitar, or other musicians in parks – maybe Lucy Larcom, Mack Plaza, or other downtown parks. Could also be Cambodian or other music from the many cultures of Lowell. Look for soothing melodies. Musician could be hired to play once a week for a month [Read more…]

Benefit:

People would feel more comfortable downtown and it would create atmosphere. It may draw more people downtown. Musician could collect donations for local organizations, but would not have to worry about working for tips.

Plant Trees At Abandoned Street Tree Beds

Idea:

There are many abandoned street tree beds throughout the city. Let’s work with the city to plant as many street trees as possible and report on the best ways to keep trees alive. Future Lowellians will thank us.

Benefit:

Street trees provide shade, clean the air, absorb rain water, increase property values, and their presence slow cars.

Citywide, OldIdea.
