Participate in worldwide PARK(ing) Day Event September 16, 2017

Idea:

PARK(ing) Day is a annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into temporary public places and “parklets.” The event organizers have free manuals and guidance documents for procuring permits in addition to many other resources. Benefit:

It would allow team(s) to collaboratively re-imagine downtown parking spaces as something more! Past examples in other cities have included tables and chairs, yoga spaces, bike racks, lawn games, chess tables, shaded benches, among others.

Location:

Downtown / JAM, OldIdea.

Rivering

Idea:

Benefit:

Community events bring people together and money to the city.

Location:

OldIdea, Pawtucketville.

Card to Culture

We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health's WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of organizations by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.

Most DIY Lowell annual events are free, but often have a suggested donation. No donation is suggested for EBT, WIC, or ConnectorCare cardholders. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.

Special Thanks

This program is funded in part by a grant from the Lowell Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. We also express our sincere gratitude to our Cornerstone Partners:
