Join the Acre Art & History Project Team

DIY Lowell is embarking on a major new project and we want you in on the ground floor. The Acre Art and History Activation project will guide a Project Team of community members from different backgrounds, ages, and perspectives to work together to tell the Acre’s story through pop-up signage, art, and installations. DIY Lowell facilitators will help the team learn how to gather information, interview other community members, develop themes, create and manage technical efforts such as calls for art, and leverage those stories to boost local businesses.

While we will spotlight the Merrimack and Market Street corridors to start, the project will uplift voices and creativity from across the entire neighborhood — and may expand into other Acre areas as the year unfolds. Together, neighbors will co-create public art, honor local history, and build civic skills that last well beyond the project.
